Oproep 2: Duurzaam internationaal werken
International work within sectorial silos inhibits a more open, fair, inclusive & green network; need to create strong cross-sectorial partnerships.
Our aim is to break the bubble of the elite that benefits from a social network and financial position to enhance their market visibility via international presence and connections. This can be done via using sustainability as a vector for a more open, mixed and integrated Arts world. We can identify new cross-sectorial partnerships which will enable new virtual collaborations, exhibitions and residencies open for non-mobile artists and access-restricted venues. At the same time a virtual buddy programme can bring together local artists with the international Art world leading to Internationalisation@home; this is expected to empower a diverse network from the commodity of home and still keeping the environmental footprint to a minimum. The individual, local artist is put first by studying and tapping into local and regional resources while at the same time working with international stakeholders and partners, all of it contributing a sustainable artistic production.
By integrating new sustainable practices in daily artistic work & collaborations we can become a frontrunner in the matter, sharing new ways of working sustainably with the world and lead by example. In this way we can also put more focus on developing the Arts from a grassroot level and rediscover our very own local artistic "gems" while offering them a wider outreach to the world. Now that virtual working systems have been put in place throughout the last year and remote working has proven to be a new and successful way of cooperation, we have the tools to systematically integrate sustainability in our virtual discourse. If we harness the opportunities given to us, we can strengthen the Arts world on a local, regional, and global level, slowly breaking geopolitical and social barriers that proved to be limiting both artists and the cause of making our ways of working more sustainable. Artists have always been messengers, and we believe that they need to take a leading role in conveying the message of sustainability.

Meertaligheid, in alle betekenissen, vormt onze eerste inspiratie. Geïntegreerde toegankelijkheid (‘esthetics of access’) is ons streefdoel.
