Oproep 2: Duurzaam internationaal werken
Drawing on the concept of Soverign Sustainment posed by the theorist Tony Fry, my work looks to the concept of global entnanglement as a weird force.
Combining notions of the weird as a time-based notion of destiny and fatedness my work addresses Sustainment as a globally entagled post-politics of future limits. Currently this spans networks that extend from Australia to Europe, informed by the post-colonial issues of the global south and is linked to the speculative thinking of design futures and the radical possibilities of ancient weaving. This research of the last 15 years has culminated in my current propositional framework of weird design - a fourfold method that generates ecologies of care through the creation of intergenerational and international platforms of transmission and exchange. This weaving model combines critical and practical understandings of the sustainable and maifests as a nomadic and hypermobile workshop that works primarily with children and young people as custodians of the future. Overall this posits that weird entanglement can establish an embodied ability to sustain landscapes, memory and materials and address collective planetary limits.
This idea is not Flanders or Brussels specific, however as it is currently centered in Europe the opportunity exists to begin to grow a network emergining from the international nodes that gather in this central European zone, particularly in relation to the sustainable and futures sector.

Right now I'm super focused on thinking about and understanding better all passport and visas issues. How countries behave according to political interest and how governments and instituitions prevent some cultures to freely participate on the world. The reflections and consequences of the past and the actions of today affect directly how people perceive each other. Passports that are not allowed.
